2. .CROWDED SIDEWALKS.

I’ve always been obsessed with Natalie Portman’s  sidewalk scene in Closer. I’ve even listened to “The Blower’s Daughter ” by Damien Rice in crowded commutes to recreate the same experience. Didn’t meet Jude Law though, which was weird…

Always Hoping For The Sun And She’ll Sing Her Song To Anyone

Zooey Deschanel

STYLE ICON: ZOOEY DESCHANEL

She may have started as an actress, and to some maybe that is how she is still defined.  However, upon discovering that the girl can sing (think Elf shower scene), I took great pleasure in finding her voice as the forefront of the band She & Him.  Her quirky style is as memorable as her music, which puts her on my list. Everything about her just seems to be from a different era, from her singing voice to her whimsical signature style.  Other actresses and singers choose to stand out with their display of legs and cleavage, while Zooey opts to stick to a feminine frock and tights most of the time.  This doesn’t mean she blends into the wallpaper (unless it’s cute retro wallpaper that is).  Her garments take on the air of anything from French hippie with her high-waisted, wide legged pants to sixties mod in crisp, bell sleeve dresses.  And on top of what may seem like overly conservative choices, her carefree attitude tells you she isn’t really taking it too seriously. The French vibe can be seen in her go-to beauty routine of cat eyes and voluminous hair.  She may not be blonde, but it all seems a little Brigitte Bardot-esque.  And this little singer is engaged to none other than the lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie, Ben Gibbard. Indie birds of a feather flock together.

Not loving the hair, but the dress is typical Zooey: feminine and a little whimsical.

And she decides to go mod. These shoes are not so good yet somehow work the attitude she exudes.

A genuine-looking smile for the cameras and an embroidered bird dress? Zooey is my kind of celebrity.
