Sienna Miller

STYLE ICON: SIENNA MILLER

Though she’s been on the Hollywood scene since around 2004, Sienna Miller has not released that many movies.  However, of what she has starred in, I have absolutely loved.  Alfie and Factory Girl portray her as Alfie’s (Jude Law’s) crazy love interest Nikki and as the notorious and tragic Edie Sedgwick. What’s funny is that for such a short spanning career, Sienna has managed to wrack up a whole lot of controversy.  Sounds a little bit familiar to another “It” girl who embodied both the fast-paced glamor of media and also the tragedy of our celeb-obsessed culture: Edie. She has yet to gain a whole lot of respect for her acting (though I think she did a convincing job in both) she has been hailed a fashion icon ever since her arrival.  She single-handedly launched  and coined the boho chic craze of 2004, with some help from Mary-Kate circa her bag-lady era. She did not stick to this style for too long though, as she slowly started to incorporate mod and even nautical fashion at times.  She always looks great, maybe because she strikes perfect balances: the mix between designer and vintage, fussy couture with messy hair, etc.  This balance exudes her nonchalance, allowing her to never seem manufactured or calculated. I look forward to her public appearances because she never lets me down and I even look forward to her much anticipated next film, Hippie Hippie Shake. Gee, I wonder why?
