10 Things I Love Tuesday (Belated)

1. .BIKE RIDES.

[source]

How I wish it were safer to ride a bicycle to class, but with my skill level I would for certainly get hit by oncoming traffic.

2. .BIRDS OF A FEATHER.

Isn’t it cute when friends are so similar that you can even tell their compatibility from their clothing styles?

Though my friends Steph and Caitlin each have distinct styles, this picture of them is adorably coordinated.

3. .GYPSY MARILYN.

4. .GETTING PACKAGES.

In fact, I got nearly as excited for my most recent package from Forever 21 as Carrie did for her Vivienne Westwood wedding gown.

Blue Eyes, This Town Is Not So Small

This is just a little ode to my favorite genetic mutation. Pretty blues are the result of a pigment mutation that happened almost 10,000 years ago. Look at me getting all scientific! In other words, we originally all had brown eyes. Here’s to science. I’ve got the mutation, too.

What is your favorite eye color? [Kate Bosworth's amazing ones are mine].

The Alternative Resolution

***I’ve postponed this project to next year due to fickleness.

I’ve been wanting to do something resolute for the new year yet my mind has been plagued by past resolution failures. Fortunately, I have stumbled upon a compromise. For the next 51 weeks, I will attempt one predetermined goal per week.  I choose a project or a rule to complete or abide by for one entire week, and the theme will change each week until the end of the year.  I came across this idea in a variety of places (such as here and here), but the source of this Carpe Diem mantra is really Owen Lowery and his documentary “An Alternative to Slitting Your Wrist.” The concept is a lot less morbid than the title of his film. Essentially, it assigns deadlines to your Bucket List. And this combination is the perfect solution for  procrastinators like me.

Some of my most anticipated ideas so far:

-Upping the Ante from Vegetarian to Vegan Week

-Yoga Everyday Week

-Volunteer Everyday Week

-Spend No Money Week

-No Computer Week

-Drinking Only Water Week

-Reading the Full Newspaper Everyday Week

-Yes Week

I’m still compiling my list of 52 endeavors, so please give me suggestions for week-long projects!

[source]

Feeling inspired by all of the lovely stories of everyone’s “meet-cute” experiences, I have decided I really need to follow Imogen Heap’s lyric. What’s the harm in an unexpected smile? Safe for all places, besides maybe the Orange Line. Have a pretty day.
