STYLE ICON: PEGGY LIPTON
Unfortunately, I was born in era far removed from the swinging sixties. I think I would have loved living in the decade of Woodstock, Haight-Ashbury, and the hippie manta. During this free-wheeling time period, Peggy Lipton was a style icon. A model turned Mod Squad star, she epitomized the generation’s free-love look with her long straight hair, big eyes, bell bottoms, and love beads. She looks angelic but admitted in an autobiography to affairs with Paul McCartney, Terence Stamp, Keith Moon, and Elvis Presley, and of course her husband, Quincy Jones. Today, Peggy is the mother of Kidada Jones (a fashion stylist) and Rashida Jones (the wife in I Love You Man and Karen on The Office). I guess the modern day equivalent of Lipton would be…dare I say it, Lindsay Lohan? Ugh, the times they are a changing.

Title from “Ruby Tuesday” by the Rolling Stones
